RANGEFINDING
The compact, eye safe and highly integrated Oval Systems laser rangefinder modules are utilized as OEM products in various applications from versatile systems to handheld devices. Rangefinder modules are manufactured with a wavelength range of a laser emitter of 905nm or 1550nm, have a compact size, a very small beam divergence and provide a measurement distance of up to 10 km.
NORTHFINDING & IMU
An Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is a self-contained system that measures linear and angular motion usually with a triad of gyroscopes and triad of accelerometers. An IMU can either be gimballed or strapdown, outputting the integrated quantities of angular velocity and acceleration in the sensor / body frame. The quality of the system is not only defined by the sensing elements included in it, but also by the quality of the signal processing pipeline.
NAVIGATION
IMU provides a relative position with respect to an initial starting point, it will eventually drift from its true position quickly when no external reference is provided. Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) support can be included to provide this reference. Sensor fusion algorithm combines all these measurements, ensuring the best performance and the least amount of drift with and without external reference. Through combining GNSS, IMU techniques that enhance each other, Oval Systems is able to provide powerful navigation solutions.
